The goose opened his eyes to see why everything had gone quiet.
The glasses he normally wore weren't just for his eyesight; he'd
worn them so long that now, without them, he had no sense of
balance. That's why he'd fallen off the bench in the first place.
He could see the professor was in trouble, but he'd have to
waddle over to her very slowly, and very carefully. Somehow he had
the sense to move the rake away from her to somewhere safe. Far
enough away that he wouldn't make the same mistake himself.
The professor had knocked herself out cold, so he knew he
